BMW’s i3 electric city car has scored a four-star Euro NCAP safety rating in the latest round of crash testing by the European car safety body. Although the i3 recorded strong results in the adult and child occupant protection categories, it missed out on a maximum five-star score due to weaker showings in the pedestrian protection and safety assist classes. Subaru BRZ Turbo - which should be good for 300bhp
Subaru in the US has confirmed that they are planning to build a turbo version of the new Boxer engine in the BRZ to create the Subaru BRZ Turbo. Finally, after promises that it was on its way for what seems like ever, we saw the arrival of the production versions of the Subaru BRZ and Toyota FT-86 at Tokyo (which had a small name change and arrive as the GT86). But what was a disappointment was that despite Subaru saying the BRZ would come with ‘less than 300bhp’, it actually came with almost exactly the same power as the GT 86 – a much less enticing 200bhp.
This aggressive slice of supercar is the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Squadra Corse – making its debut here at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, it could quite possibly be the last current-shape Gallardo variant we’ll ever see. Named after a famous breed of fighting bull (what else?), the Gallardo has been around for a decade now. Tweaks to the chassis, engine and styling over that time have kept it fresh, but could the Squadra Corse be a last hurrah for this Lamborghini?
